By Around the Web In January 2013, the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued mortgage servicing rules that included various protections for homeowners facing foreclosure. Set to take effect in January 2014, mortgage servicers and service providers are working hard to be in compliance with the new rules.
